๐Ÿ“š Pre-Reception Visit to Prospect Library

Our Pre-Reception children enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Prospect Library, where they had the opportunity to explore books, engage in story time, and experience a real community learning space.

โœจ Excited for a New Adventure

From the moment we arrived, the children were full of enthusiasmโ€”as shown in the photos above. They were curious about the surroundings, noticing buildings, trees, and the pathways leading to the library.

๐Ÿ“– Engaging Story Time

During story time, the children sat attentively while listening to the story โ€œMy Dadโ€. They were highly engaged, responding to the illustrations and asking thoughtful questions about the characters and events in the story.
This experience encouraged:

  • early literacy development
  • active listening
  • comprehension and prediction skills
  • confidence in sharing ideas

๐Ÿ” Exploring the Library Environment

After story time, children explored the library spaceโ€”observing shelves of books, spotting familiar titles, and enjoying the calm and inviting environment. Outdoor moments allowed them to move their bodies, chat with friends, and reflect on their visit.

โค๏ธ Building Confidence & Community Connections

Library excursions support children to:

  • become familiar with community spaces
  • develop independence and social skills
  • foster a love for reading
  • understand how to use shared learning environments

It was a meaningful day filled with curiosity, laughter, and new experiences. We look forward to more learning adventures beyond the classroom!
